I hope you guys know about Murder By Death. If not, have a listen! They're magnificent. Their lyrics remind me of a bit darker Decemberists-style storytelling. Their orchestrations are layered and wonderful. It's really an interesting sound. They're rock, folk-rock, indie goodness with a cellist.

Hey, this isn't bad stuff at all! ;) I rather liked it! I like a lot of darker, orchestrated-type bands as well. My brother and I bond over such music. :P
I saw them live in Louisville - I love all their whiskey themed songs (which were in a later album)
